May 24, 2019 - TriStar Hendersonville and TriStar Portland Emergency Department Director Melony Scott, RN, was recently awarded the Patriot Award by the national organization ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) for her outstanding support of active duty employees she oversees in her role. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.  Rebel Barron, serving in the U.S. Army National Guard, nominated Scott for the award because of her support of Rebel and his wife, Nicky, who are both nurses in the Emergency Departments of TriStar Hendersonville and TriStar Portland.
